it’s very easy for me to emotionally distance myself from personal problems but almost everyday I see people being disgusting, cruel, ugly, ignorant, stupid, and violent in some
exotic new flavor via media, tv, internet, news sources, or even in public and THAT is what takes it out of me. one person being a jerk to me, it’s like whatever pop off, as if I have any time to care about you and your sad existence. but witnessing people as a whole, seeing the countless and limitlessly awful things that they do and say to each other, laughing about it, totally numbed to any sense of humanity and kindness- it’s overwhelming. I’m feeling another wave of depression approaching. sometimes I think I might be too sensitive these days, then again maybe I’m becoming more aware. but cynicism isn’t wisdom, I’ve got to be optimistic. because if I’m not, I’m as good as dead
you know that part of catcher
in the rye when holden gets into a telephone booth feeling kind of restless and sad and wanting to talk to someone but while he’s there he realizes there’s not a person on earth who he’d want to talk to or
who’d want to talk to him?
that’s exactly how I feel right now. no one should ever feel like holden caufield
The story was great, the stakes were well earned and there was some nice characterization but it was all intercut with these stupid shaky-cam three-hit zoom ins during pretty much every single action scene and someone gets thrown through a collapsing building like, ten times. I don’t know why they kept going back to that well. I hope they make more with this reboot but I hope they don’t let Zack Snyder visually piss all over the next one
the story was shitty too though. I mean feel the plot at its core had real potential, just bad writing drove it into the ground. I hate how so many movies (especially comic book movies…. especially comic book movies being drowned in special effects) really underestimate the audience intelligence by making actors repeat their main character points over and over again. like couldn’t you convey this crucial-to-the-plot character analysis in a more subtle way or is well crafted story telling too much work? can’t you trust us to keep up with this story through basic observational skills or do you have to keep awkwardly working in excuses to directly explain to the audience what’s happening? it’s sad man. there was also a noticeable lack of patience, the conflict is presented very obviously and bluntly to later be resolved in the same clumsy manner. disregarding substance, because we’ve done our job SPELLING out every detail for you, they used the abundance of left over time to repeatedly crash aliens through buildings and roll endless stock film of superman gently drifting to the ground with louis lane in his arms before they spend a half hour staring at each other meaningfully. I mean I understand it’s hard to fit a lot of depth into 2 hours but cmmon we can do better than this. but it’s nbd I wasn’t really expecting much in the first place because I’m familiar with directors other work. I knew even if it sucked it could be enjoyable in good company aka people who will laugh about it with you afterwards

Note how the most important facet of this story is not how she swam out and physically saved two people from drowning in a riptide at the risk of her own life, but that during the course of heroic physical activity in an outfit not designed for it, a tit slipped out.
Really? A nipple? A nipple made an appearance when she was dragging her son and a woman twice her size out of strong currents?
WELL HOLY SHIT, STOP THE MOTHER FUCKING PRESS
every time I think about this I get really sad
